Full-Time production begins again at the Verona plant
The Fedrigoni Group announces that its plant in Verona, which was damaged by fire on 2 July, has fully resumed the production of paper bobbins.
More specifically, the first of its two machines became operational again on 7 September and the second on 21 September, earlier than planned, with the start-up of the newly-implemented automated plant for raw materials movement.
Work on the restoration of the plant structures has also been completed.
Production was not halted during the summer months and work was also carried out by other plants of the Group on public holidays to deal with all the orders received, thanks to the commitment and dedication of all of the Company’s staff.
The Group did not make use of any lay-off schemes. Out of the total of 270 employees, many took vacation leave during the summer period and many others carried out cleaning and implementation work, while 20 members of staff were temporarily transferred to the Trentino factories.
On the other hand the Verona plant continued with the finishing, embossing, cutting, coating, preparatory and restart-up work just three days after the fire.
It is recalled that there was only damage to materials as a result of the events of 2 July, thanks also to the security procedures that were immediately activated. There were no consequences for the Company’s staff who were promptly evacuated in accordance with accident prevention protocols.
